...try to make these trends work for me and my wardrobe!

Every season (well most seasons) I try to pick a few fun trends that require little to no shopping on my end. Then I make a list of a few items that can be multi-tasked to the fullest for this season and into the next. It is one of my little tricks to feeling fabulous and on trend while staying in my budget. So without further ado here is my list...

Mixing Textures

(&Tangerine, possibly together...)

City Cowgirl And Big Scarves

Striped and Casual

And....Big Hair!

Soft, romantic, layered, textures galore and attention to detail.
So we will see how I do and maybe I will post some pictures of my own attempts at being
"on trend".
What are you embracing for Spring?
Look what I found at Goodwill yesterday! It can be a chair

or a rocker.

And the handles make it super sturdy for a little one to pull up on.

All it needs is a little paint and it will be good to go!

A sweet treat made even sweeter by seeing some old friends (read haven't seen them since the year we got married, which was a long time ago) at the same Goodwill. An excellent Monday if I say so myself!

Hope your week is off to a great start!
I think we will always post when these come to our email boxes, because they are by far the BEST deal. It is the same deal as the one we blogged about here. The coupon code for free pages is:

GIFT3570

And ends:

FEB 6th

Happy Photobooking!

I love a good deal. It is an adrenaline rush and makes me feel like screaming

 "I Win!!!"

well at least most of the time it does. During the holidays I am constantly on the lookout for a way to save when purchasing Christmas Gifts. Often I find just what I have been looking for, but then there is that maddening shipping cost. Sometimes it almost doubles my cost and then I feel like muttering

 "I lost..."

over and over again. Not good. One thing I have noticed however is the similarity in all of those discount codes. The ones for Free Shipping, or 30% off. You know the ones right? In googling :

<itemdesired> free shipping, or % off
(which works many times by the way),

I began to notice that the codes were all so similar. For my next on-line purchase I decided to try out my theory and was successful! Since then I always try some combination of the following:

FREESHIP
<MONTH>FREESHIP (example: DECFREESHIP..)
<MONTH NUMBER>OFF OR FREESHIP (example: 12OFF or 12FREESHIP)
30OFF
50OFF
30FORFRIENDS
30FORFAMILY (or 50)
FREE2YOU
SHIPFREE

I hope these help you in your quest for your very own "I Win!!!" moment, and if you have any to add I would love to have a few more for my emergency moments, so please share. Happy on-line deal hunting!
Baby Love is growing so quickly that it is getting difficult to keep him in clothes! We, like many parents these days, love to see our little boys dressed like little men, rather than babies. In pondering our current clothing problem we found a solution that we are so in love with we just had to share it with you guys.
Hanes - Toddler Boys 5 Pack Crewneck T-Shirts, White, T2145 (Size 2/3)
Hanes toddler tee-shirts that come in a 5 pack and
are a little over $5 at Wal-Mart!
They also have:
Hanes Toddler Boys' 5 Pack Tank,(White-2T/3T)
 for a little over $6.
We love these for the look, the price and the fact that they can be bleached from all of the summer berry and ketchup stains that are inevitable. We must say that they make our little man look like very stylish!
So pass this tip on, or use it for yourself. After all, that little extra that you saved would like nice spent on something else. Are we right?
Happy Tuesday!
Just a quick heads up to anyone out there looking for a coupon code or discount code for FREE SHIPPING from one of my favorite companies, My Blankee. Right now they are having a fabulous blowout sale and with the following code you also get free domestic shipping, which save us almost $10!
code: SHIPFREE

We received a mini one of these for Baby Love when he was born and he LOVED it, took it everywhere. Even today it is one of his favorite blankets. In searching for similar styles for our sweet second we found that even the cheaper brands were around $30 for a large and $10 for the small security sizes. Especially if you wanted the dots and satin trim, both of which made set My Blankee apart for Baby Love. We found both the lovey and the full size blanket for $40, with free shipping! So for our newest arrival we got these two and are so excited to see how he loves on them!

Those that know me well know that when I find something I love I tell everyone I know about it, and usually convince them to purchase one, or two, or three as well! I am a great sales person. Well I have a new little love: Indestructible books! Yes, you heard me. Is this possible? I think that it truly is and that the answer is inexpensive and accessible. Let me share with you our new find:
I was hesitant to say the least but had read some reviews in various parenting magazines. I read through the information on their website, considered the costs then had a thought. What if Amazon has them? I have had great success with their book selection and prices. And am a Mom member so I get free 2-day shipping (I will post more information on that next week, promise!). Well lo and behold they had them and they are currently a part of their 4 for 3 deal. Purchase 4 qualifying items (all of the books qualify) and you don't pay for the least expensive item. Since they are the same price I essentially got a free book and free 2-day shipping! In addition this price is lower than our local shops had them listed. So it was a win, win all around!

They arrived today and I am so incredibly pleased with each one. There aren't any words on the pages, just breathtaking art depicting a story. They are multi-cultural; Old McDonald is a farm in Bolivia and Humpty Dumpty fell off the great wall of China. And I truly think these little gems will outlast Baby Bean's most eager attempts at book destruction. In truth I might order a few more for gifts. So if you are having a baby, maybe you should take a peek and make a vote for the one you love. <wink> Happy Friday Friends!

Shopping at chain stores is a bit of a chore when you live in the heart of the city. I carefully bundle my trips and try to make them as efficient as possible. As a by-product we have also found that I spend less. Surprising I know, but there aren't many opportunities for me to wander Target's aisles and pick up all of those irresistible little things I just know I "need". Or at least will at some point in the next 6 months. The downside is I have to be very aware and active when the things we actually do need go on sale. To do this I have subscribed to some wonderful blogs and websites that carefully advertise sales and codes at stores such as Target, Old Navy, Gap, etc...Today I just have to make you aware of one going on at this very moment at Old Navy.

I haven't shopped at Old Navy since 2006. Seriously. Not because I have anything against the store, but I haven't been near one or motivated to drive out to a location since then. Well in the past couple of weeks I have now made two trips. I blogged about it on my best friend and my fashion blog here, so pop over and take a peek. I wanted to add that even if you don't have the coupon, they accepted the code that I read to them from the coupon! Crazy to say the least. And if you are trying to think of a reason to make a trip I would offer that you can find MANY baby items for less than $3. And very cute little outfits. So if you are like me, and have a plethora of baby showers in your future, pop over and save yourself some money. You will thank me!
