I have been on a peg people frenzy lately and thought I would share one of my newest Pinned and Crafted success stories. If you are wanting to join in on the fun I will be doing a four part tutorial for the different characters with pictures and your very own downloadable pdf template free from my hand to yours. But please, if you want to use this on your blog or elsewhere, give the author of the chicken scratches credit. <smile>

We made our Thank You cards for Christmas this year and loved how they turned out. Using some gold and silver cards that were heavily discounted right after the holidays we decided to adorn them with a banner theme.
Using cardstock we cut out little banner shapes.
Then stamped them with the word Thankful.
While these dried we cut pieces of Jute and glued them along the top of the card.
We thought the Jute made them less holiday and more shabby-chic.
After the ink had dried we glue the little banner pieces right under the Jute line. Voila!
These were inspired by the ever so lovely crafts found here on our Pinterest board.

For Baby Love's Birthday Thank You's I wanted to add a little personal and appropriate touch. So I decided to try a trick I saw where you use a potato to create your own stamp. Well, I had an apple and no potato, but it still turned out and I was elated to add these adorable little mustaches to the backs of the envelopes!
I would add a note of caution to be careful that your design isn't too complicated, those apples can be stubborn! This took a few tries before I got it just right, but it sure beats finding and buying the right stamp.

I am sure you have heard of people making one of these, or witnessed the beauty of some of the intricately crafted ones on Pinterest. With my New Year's resolution (to be posted soon) in hand I made the call to stop pinning and just make one. If you are like me that is hard to do, especially with limited time and space. There aren't many spots in our place to lay a project, so they really need to be completed in the same span of time as they were begun. With that in mind I took the photo Christmas cards we had been sent and some other less personal cards (like from businesses and such) and with my trusty craft glue, a piece of cardstock and one nap-time session created this:
The cardstock cover really cleaned up the appearance of this hasty craft. And since we are teaching our kiddos Spanish we thought it would be good to put "Mi Amigos" on the cover. It isn't the Christmas Card book of my dreams, but he sure loves it a lot. Another item from my boards to my home!
