So we are coming to the end of the 2nd trimester and the cravings are gaining momentum. My rule of thumb has always been that I must truly crave: "to long for; want greatly; desire eagerly" as it is defined in the dictionary, for at least a week. At that point I address how to satisfy that craving, sometimes I fully give in but in moderation. Other times I work hard to figure out an alternative that is equally satisfying. This is a tactic I have used for a long time, even when not pregnant, and works well with my list-making personality.

All of that to say that I have had a craving for the following for over a month now and am going crazy trying to figure out how to satiate my desire. Oh yes, a MONTH. Flying Squirrel Peanut Butter is based out of Eugene, OR and wow! Take a peek at what they have come up with! (Oh, and how cute are those labels? As if I needed more convincing...)

Spazzy Squirrel
Peanut butter just got interesting. Nutmeg, cinnamon, coconut, raisins, and chocolate chunks come together to blow the socks off any traditional peanut butter.

Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed
Need a boost of squirrely energy? Spread on this PB swirled with coffee and dark chocolate and you too can gather enough nuts in time for winter... or whatever it is you wanted to get done today.

Has anyone tried Flying Squirrel's products? Which one should I try?

In my opinion, you should definitely try the Spazzy Squirrel. That sounds amazing to me.

  3. I have to say that I am leaning towards the Spazzy Squirrel. Tempted to get both, but then I KNOW I will end up eating both, most likely by myself...not a great plan! <3 Abbey

I had to buy quite a few jars to make the shipping worth it. So, I'll let you know how they are when I get them..... If all else fails, it should go great with pretzles or something for a last minute "Can you bring and appitizer or dessert?" at my work place.

  5. Jordan was just telling me this afternoon that our sweet Sarah Gillihan has a friend that started a peanut butter company and when he mentioned the name I knew it was the same one you mentioned here! Crazy small world. Her name is Ericka and she is a total sweetie. Way to support the small businesses! =)
